About Crowdfunding - Overview
What is Crowdfunding? - can it help Businesses and People in need?
Crowdfunding is often a way for Fundraisers to acquire funds to finance various projects and businesses.
Nowadays this is often done via an online platform as well as through traditional means, such as collections and events. This is still a growing and successful form of funding and has been responsible for many well known companies that were once start ups.
According to Statista, In 2021, the global crowdfunding market was valued at 12.27 billion U.S. dollars and was forecast to double by 2027, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11 percent.
Some Recipients of Crowdfunding
Here I have tried to include just a few companies who have benefited from Crowdfunding, in one form or another, across a wide variety of industries, countries and startup platforms:
BrewDog - a multinational brewery and pub chain, They raised £72,754,050 on Proprietary and Crowdcube.
NowRx - an American retail pharmacy that uses software and robotics to offer same-day delivery for its recipients. They raised $20,000,000 via SeedInvest.
CoinMetro - a Crypto-Exchange designed to support users in buying, exchanging and selling cryptocurrency. They raised €12,026,735 on its own platform.

Foodist - a German monthly subscription service, offering recipients a selection of gourmet Food products each month. They raised: €1,000,000
As you can see, if there is a good product or idea, funds will come.....
Lastly, but certainly not least.
Fundraising is now also increasingly done by individuals and organisations, with a non commercial goal, who consider themselves more fortunate than others and wish to give something back to society and have a genuine desire, purely to help others in need.
Charity of course, is not a new concept, but this funding is often done in a philanthropic, rather than a charitable sense, which is more focused on helping people on solving their problems sustainably, over the long-term.
Perhaps the reason for this increase in philanthropy, is driven by a huge need for assistance, due to the many current world events, conflicts and shortages that now prevail. Soon there will be a Fee Free platform to address this, being Introduced by ONPASSIVE called OBless
