About Dapps - A brief Introduction
What is a DApp ?
DApp is a word derived from Decentralized app and relates to the use of various Web based online applications, which are not controlled by one institution, formal government or any recognised authority etc.
To help to achieve this, a DApp runs on a blockchain or a peer-to-peer (P2P) network of computers, rather than any single computer or a centralized server.
There are a great many examples of DApps. Probably the most famous one of all, is the very first Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.
All transactions on the Bitcoin block chain are fully read only and transparent, whilst at the same time being totally decentralized and secure without any interference or control being possible by any centralized body.
