What are the different types of E learning & Online Education?
Since E-Learning became a recognised type of online education, there has evolved various types of teaching and learning. The choice of these methods will depend on the particular student and sometimes, the type of course that they are undertaking.
Some of these include, but are not limited to:
Fixed eLearning
This is one of the older versions of online learning. Therefore, as it was developed in the early days, the model used is a traditional structured type learning process.
Adaptive eLearning
Unlike the fixed e-learning model, adaptive eLearning is much more flexible and caters much more towards the students individual skills and speed of knowledge acquisition and capability.
Asynchronous eLearning
This relates to the method of when independent study is done from different locations. Learners basically study at a time when it suits their schedule.
Interactive eLearning
This enables Teachers and students to communicate freely and even to make changes to aspects of the course and learning as they see fit.
Individual eLearning
Enables students to learn at whatever level they are able to achieve, based on their own skills and capabilities. These are sometimes courses that have no formal qualification at the end of them.
Collaborative eLearning
Collaborative eLearning puts the emphasis on teamwork for the students to achieve together. These courses can particularly help employees who also engage together in the same workplace.
