About Videoconferencing
What is Videoconferencing?
As the title suggests, Videoconferencing is a technology that enables a way for people to hold meetings with others who are in different locations. Unlike traditional meetings, participants do not have to all be together physically in the same place.
Many people now use this technology frequently. This is especially the case since the Covid 19 Pandemic, whereby real face to face meetings were not encouraged, or not allowed.
This type of meeting forum can be a particularly efficient and cost effective method for certain business users, who may be located a long way from their customers or suppliers and may be in different cities or even different countries.
Videoconferencing also saves significant time and costs associated with business travel, fares, fuel and hotels. It also means there is no need to hire a meeting venue, along with any other associated costs, meals etc.
Videoconferences are now held for many different uses, including customer meetings, negotiations, Job Interviews, Product launches, Training purposes and many more. Because Videoconferencing is often free for small groups and short durations, it is very easy for even just 2 or 3 people to jump on a video call for a brief chat.
The quality of Video Conference Technology is excellent and almost any modern phone, tablet or laptop nowadays will function and perform well for most Video calls with a reasonable connection speed.
There are quite a few well known Videoconferencing platforms, with more emerging, including:
Zoom
Skype
Google Meet
GoToWebinar
